COVID-19 - Update Prime Hotels

Prime Hotels is focused on keeping you safe

The wellbeing and safety of our guests and team members is our utmost priority and we want to provide you with an update on what we are doing in response to COVID-19.

As COVID-19 continues to unfold we are working very closely with the Ministry of Health, Travel Industry Aotearoa and Hospitality NZ to ensure have the latest information.

Collaborative approach

Our experienced staff across our hotels are working in a collaborative and co-ordinated approach to provide a safe environment:

  • A steering committee for COVID-19 has been established to keep abreast of changes and implement the best standard operating procedures.
  • Daily briefings are held across the hotels with our teams to ensure every team member is well informed.

  • Reinforcing Health & Safety

    In response to COVID-19, our team have increased their vigilance and taken specific proactive health and safety measures:

  • Mandatory re-training to reinforce our rigorous cleaning protocols and routines.
  • We have increased our cleaning schedules in all public areas with a strong focus on hand railings, elevators, bathrooms, and door handles.
  • Hospital grade disinfectant is being used for our strict routine cleaning.
  • Hand sanitisers have been placed in public areas for all guests to use.
  • Reinforcement to our teams of personal hygiene, through handwashing and use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
  • We are monitoring our team and will provide necessary support ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Right across our hotels we’re following the government requirements around self-isolation for any of our team members who are returning to New Zealand from overseas travel.
  • We are requesting that all our guests sign a Health and Travel Declaration Form.

  • Providing flexibility for international bookings

    As always, our team is focused on providing you the best care and support. We understand that the travel restrictions the New Zealand government has put in place imposing a 14-day self-isolation, will have an impact on international bookings:

  • Prime Hotels will hold the value of an accommodation booking in credit for up to 12 months from the original booking.
  • The credit will apply to any international travel booking that is cancelled, only whilst the Government’s 14-day isolation restriction is in place.
  • Any accommodation cancelled and rebooked, is subject to any price difference between original booking and new booking.
  • This policy may be adjusted, to align with New Zealand government policy.
